How this works
Each plant has a baseline watering interval. We adjust it for the four things that change how fast soil dries: brighter light and summer growth dry soil faster (shorter interval); larger pots, higher humidity and winter dormancy hold moisture longer (longer interval). The result is a range, not a fixed day — soil, drainage and your home all vary.
This estimate is a general guide based on average indoor conditions. The final call on watering is always the finger test — check whether the top 2–3 cm of soil is dry. It varies with pot drainage, season, indoor heating and the individual plant, and overwatering (root rot) is a more common cause of trouble than underwatering.
